Baby Nixon

Hello baby Nixon!

We were so happy to help Nixon and his family (mom, dad, sister, and brother). This little guy was born September 9th (12 weeks early). Baby Nixon had severe swelling, heart issues, & he had to have surgery on his intestine. After a three month stay in the hospital, Nixon was able to join the rest of his family in his new home.

Nixon’s mom had used her maternity leave while he was in the hospital and continued to work part-time, take care of Nixon at the hospital, and juggled taking care of her family at home (45 minutes from Des Moines) every day until Nixon was released from the hospital in early December. His mom will stay home with Nixon for six weeks. Unfortunately, she will not be receiving a pay check during this time. Cradling New Life was able to help them make their rent payment for the month of December, gave them a gas card to go to and from Des Moines for doctor visits, were able to help them with a Hy-Vee card to assist with groceries during this time, and also purchased some newborn diapers to last a few weeks!

When Nixon got to go home, he weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and was in great spirits! We wish you the best of luck Nixon and family!
